Designing a new concept's first branch is always an exciting opportunity. Our job as designers is to predict what operations and customer flow may be like, to create a seamless layout and to translate branding elements into attention-grabbing design details that can be repeated in future stores. All this, of course, while taking a budding restaurant's initial budget and constraints into consideration.

We were able to work closely with the team of founders and their chosen general contractor InterGiro Builders. 

Mala Malatang has already opened their second branch (and we are happy to be back, working on their third) but we will always be proud that we were part of the very start of the journey at store 1!
